You’re coming to Waterton Lakes National Park! A magnificent country awaits you.
Bear Mountain Motel’s name celebrates the majestic mountain that towers above the motel called Bear Mountain by the Blackfoot Indians.
Located right in the town site, we offer easy access to the marina, restaurants, shops, beach paths and scenic attractions. The lake is just across the street. We offer simple, clean, affordable accommodations with basic amenities. From single rooms to 3-room kitchenettes or full kitchens, we welcome guests old and new.
Open mid-May thru September, the Bear Mountain Motel is a classic 1960’s style motel. The wood and masonry architecture and drive-up parking is a favorite with the nostalgic traveler. Rooms are small by today’s standards and are very clean. All rooms are smoke-free. A selection of pet-friendly rooms are available.
Marvelous landscape surrounds the motel and most rooms have a view. Each room has patio chairs outside the door.
In 2018, our first check-ins will start on Friday, May 11 and our last check-outs will be on Monday, October 1. You can make your 2018 reservations online starting November 1.
Family-Owned and Operated
In November 2015, the motel was purchased by Ross and Lorna Uibel, long-time residents of the Waterton area and owners of Caribou Clothes, Big Scoop Ice Cream Parlour and Big Chunk Fudge Shop on main street in Waterton. As of 2017, we are pleased to announce that our daughter, Ashley, and her husband, Jim Riddle, are now the owners of Bear Mountain Motel. They are thrilled to be the owner/operators of this charming accommodation in this beautiful place.
Our family has 60+ years of working in, living in and loving Waterton and we’re happy to share favourite trails and tales with you. We are excited to continue the wonderful atmosphere and service that is Bear Mountain Motel.
If you need friendly affordable accommodations during your stay in Waterton, we hope you consider the Bear Mountain Motel!
